THE PLAN
Every Monday I will post the reading for the week ahead. It will be about 10 chapters a week. You might want to read a chapter or two a day, and catch up at weekends. If there is a verse that especially spoke to you, a question that you have, or a thought that struck you, please share it with your fellow travellers by making a comment.

The Lord Almighty has sworn, "Surely, as I have planned, so it will be, and as I have purposed, so it will happen" Isaiah 14 v 24. Praise the Lord that He is in control of everything in the world, and that His purposes always come about. What an encouragement and call to action as we wait for the day of the Lord, knowing what He has purposed for us through Jesus!
Thanks Tom. I also underlined 14:26-27. He is the God whose hand is stretched out over all nations...and no one "can turn it back." As you say, it gives us such courage to keep going. It won't all come to nothing . His purposes will triumph. Praise Him and keep going.
Chapters 13-19 make devastating reading for Israel’s enemies. How terrible to have the Lord’s hand raised against you. But at the end of all this, Egypt finally makes the right call. 19:22 ‘They will turn to the LORD, and he will respond to their pleas and heal them.’ Chapter 19 ends with these extraordinary words: ‘The LORD Almighty will bless them, saying ‘Blessed be Egypt my people, Assyria my handiwork, and Israel my inheritance.’ We might fear the one who can destroy his enemies. We should fear still more the one whose power can make his enemies his friends. And wonder at his mercy.
Love being back in Isaiah. 16 v 5 "IN LOVE A THRONE WILL BE ESTABLISHED;
IN FAITHFULNESS A MAN WILL SIT ON IT--ONE FROM THE HOUSE OF DAVID,
ONE WHO IN JUDGING SEEKS JUSTICE AND SPEEDS THE CAUSE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS".
What a glorious Promise of the Son of Man seated on the Throne of Righteousness.
Read to chp 41 today. Isaiah 40 is so Glorious. The Promises have lifted me today, during this lockout, V 29 ''HE GIVES STRENGTH TO THE WEARY AND INCREASES THE POWER OF THE WEAK''.Thanks be to God, that our sin is forgiven at the CROSS & by His Spirit He is with us forever.
