THE PLAN
Every Monday I will post the reading for the week ahead. It will be about 10 chapters a week. You might want to read a chapter or two a day, and catch up at weekends. If there is a verse that especially spoke to you, a question that you have, or a thought that struck you, please share it with your fellow travellers by making a comment.

Love being back in a gospel after being in the old testament for a bit. All the signs and prophecies finally culminating!! Luke 1 is especially cool as you get all the set up of the announcements about John and Jesus. Looking forward to Christmas now! There's a great song that gets my heart racing about all of this - https://youtu.be/3LbzC0pii-s
Ben, I agree. I found the start of Luke 1 unexpectedly fresh and exciting! - after all those years of waiting, events suddenly gather pace: the time has finally come.
8:38-39 When the man from whom the demons had gone out asks to follow Jesus, at first glance it seems that Jesus says no, but his answer is actually a sort of yes: “Follow me, by staying here and telling everyone here what I have done for you!"
Struck by the number of times Jesus prays, for instance 9:28 he 'went up on a mountain to pray', also 6:12, 5:16. If only my own prayer life mirrored his! In particular he prays often in solitary places - something that is hard to achieve in our fast-paced, over-connected world.
