THE PLAN

Every Monday I will post the reading for the week ahead. It will be about 10 chapters a week. You might want to read a chapter or two a day, and catch up at weekends. If there is a verse that especially spoke to you, a question that you have, or a thought that struck you, please share it with your fellow travellers by making a comment.

Don’t freak out at all the names. As you read look for the chronicler’s commentary on people. What do they do that is good? What do they do that is bad?

David Suchet did well reading all the names in chapters 1-9 - he must have been mighty relieved to reach the prose of chapter 10! There are vast numbers of people, families and tribes. Thinking about what the video said about Chronicles concluding the Hebrew scriptures, is one of the writer's purposes to document the outworking of the promise to Abraham in Genesis 15:5?

Oh yes, thank you Mike. I have struggled with all the names and genealogies....but then it came to me the Lord's full knowledge of the details of our lives.....it seems that not one person of any tribe was forgotten or overlooked....all was noted. This has presented challenge but also great encouragement to keep going to the finishing line.
