Jesus said, "These are the Scriptures that testify about me." (John 5:39) As all roads once led to Rome, all Scripture leads to Jesus. Join us as we journey through the whole Bible on a quest to know Him better.
THE PLAN
Every Monday I will post the reading for the week ahead. It will be about 10 chapters a week. You might want to read a chapter or two a day, and catch up at weekends. If there is a verse that especially spoke to you, a question that you have, or a thought that struck you, please share it with your fellow travellers by making a comment.

I am enjoying the way this vivid history book makes such a good companion piece to our current sermons in Romans on Sundays. Romans has Jew-Gentile matters firmly in its sights, and Acts 10-18 have been full of Jew-Gentile issues: people realising that the gospel is for the Gentiles as well as the Jews, and Jews realising that Jesus is the Messiah promised by their scriptures and in fulfilment of their law. Also, I loved the none-too-subtle message of 12:23-24. Chapter 12 began with Herod having ‘James, the brother of John, put to death with the sword’, but it ends with Herod’s own death, and immediately a quiet little observation ‘But the word of God continued to spread and flourish’. Jesus is sovereign, and his word outlives all his enemies.
