Jesus said, "These are the Scriptures that testify about me." (John 5:39) As all roads once led to Rome, all Scripture leads to Jesus. Join us as we journey through the whole Bible on a quest to know Him better.
THE PLAN
Every Monday I will post the reading for the week ahead. It will be about 10 chapters a week. You might want to read a chapter or two a day, and catch up at weekends. If there is a verse that especially spoke to you, a question that you have, or a thought that struck you, please share it with your fellow travellers by making a comment.

The opening minute of this video notes that Mark ‘compiles’ his material (from the recollections of Peter). Bear this in mind as you read, and you notice just how purposefully he arranges those recollections. It is far from random. For example, I love the neat way that the *gradual* healing of the blind man at Bethesda in 8:22-26 (which is surprising given that other healings were instant) serves as a picture of what is going on in the verses for some distance either side of this: the disciples’ *gradual* realisation of who Jesus is, as their sight becomes clearer.
Thanks Richard. Yes, Mark is a movie maker. We cut from one scene to the next and he is constantly asking us to make the connections.
