THE PLAN
Every Monday I will post the reading for the week ahead. It will be about 10 chapters a week. You might want to read a chapter or two a day, and catch up at weekends. If there is a verse that especially spoke to you, a question that you have, or a thought that struck you, please share it with your fellow travellers by making a comment.

It is so good reading the bible at pace like this. It really helps in gaining the overall picture. In this book I've come away with a clear sense of the law's powerlessness to justify us, or to make us live right. Righteousness comes through faith (3:5) and grace (5:4) and right living comes through the Spirit (5:16ff). The law can't stop us from sinning, but the Spirit can. So why was the law given? Because of sin, until the saviour came, to point to God's holiness. 'The law was our guardian until Christ came, in order that we might be justified by faith. But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian, for in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith.' (3:24-25). Something I've not noticed or grasped before. God is continually opening up his treasures as we read his word.
Thank you Laura. The reformers, who wanted to put the Bible in the hands of Gods people, would be cheering for this sort of testimony to how God opens the eyes of our hearts as we open His Word.
For all the times we over-complicate the Christian life, I love moments like this when scripture makes it very simple: 5:13 You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love. For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.’
Galations 3 v 28 &29 spoke so wonderfully to me this morning. The Glory that we are, Jew and Gentile, "ALL ONE IN CHRIST JESUS". We are joint heirs of the Kingdom with Him, through His Blood shed for us all. Thank You Jesus.
